The moment you set foot in Symi, it's like stepping into another world. Climb the Kali Strata Stairs to Chorio: Kali Strata, the historic 500-step stairway leading up from Gialos to the old village of Chorio, is a gateway to the past. As you climb the stairs, you feel like time has stopped. Old stone houses, small art workshops and beautiful views accompany your journey.
Visit Panormitis Monastery: Located at the southern end of Symi, on the seafront, Panormitis Monastery is not only a religious site but also a place of peace. It draws you in with its silence, architecture and story.

Historical Buildings and Ruins: The island's past is evident on the streets, but you encounter history more directly, especially in the Kastro region. Old castles and Byzantine ruins shed light on Symi's deep-rooted history.
Take Boat Tours: It is not possible to visit the whole island by land. Spend a day on a boat tour. These tours are perfect for exploring the bays, hidden caves and houses visible from the sea.
Watch out for Festival Times: During the summer months, festivals with music and dance are organized on the island. If you come across one, don't miss it. You will feel the Greek culture closely and see the island come alive.
