Cunda is one of the most beautiful places in the Aegean. The beauty of Cunda is not only due to its nature and the feeling of autonomy you get from being on the island, but also to its history, which is a relic of its former Greek inhabitants. Don't look for historical points to visit in Cunda, you will find yourself in it as you wander the streets.
Consisting of two Greek houses, one dating from 1864 and the other from 1908, @cundafatmahanimkonagi is right in the center of the historical distri
ct. Summarizing the history of Cunda, the stone house has a history in every corner and a sweet ambiance that brings together the old and the new.
As soon as I enter the blue door of the historic mansion, I feel like I've been transported back to the early 1900s. Antique furniture offering tasteful comfort, a peaceful garden with bougainvillea and serotonin-releasing island air! It all comes together to turn a vacation into a delightful story.
Each of the mansion's 10 rooms, all but one of which are double rooms, are named after fragrant flowers. The rooms range in size from 12 to 25 square meters, and I chose the suite with a fireplace for my stay. Some of the rooms, which appeal to those who love the historical texture, also overlook the garden of the neighboring church.
Breakfast, served in the upper and lower gardens, is both varied and pleasant enough to remind you that you are in the Aegean with its pastries and Cretan appetizers.
The mansion is open all year round and only to guests over the age of 15.
Pets are not allowed.
The nearest airport is Edremit Airport, 45 km away.
A car is required for transportation to the sea.
Cunda is actually like a small neighborhood that tells itself as you walk through its streets. Old windmills, the Taksiyarhis Church and the Necdet Kent Library, which was converted from an old church, should be visited. Vira Balık is a good choice for raki and fish in the evening.
Cunda welcomes its guests with delicacy in every season, don't wait for the moments!
