Turkey's Tiniest Small Hotels
Tiny hotels, which usually serve as family-run businesses, are known to host their guests in a very warm and friendly way. Therefore, many of them have regulars. They knock on the door of this friendly house every year. While most of us do not even remember the name of the hotel we stayed in the summer, it is enough for the regulars of tiny hotelsto visit that hotel once. The operator of the facility where you spend your summer or winter vacation has already become your best friend. The owner of the hotel is now your friend with whom you talk at your table in the evenings while enjoying the sea or mountain view, and with whom you play backgammon on the beach or on the terrace during the day. So lasting friendships are established that the name at the top of your best friend list that you sent a New Year's card to has become the owner of the tiny hotel where you spent your vacation. Those who have experienced this intimate environment even once know that the vacations we spend in tiny hotels are at the top of our list of unforgettable summer vacations. We have prepared a selection of the most special tiny and small hotels of our country with the hope that we may add new ones to this warm list.

İncirli Ev Hotel, Alaçatı
When you set foot in Alaçatı, every corner greets you with a different surprise. From Çeşme Castle to the marina, from the Arkas Art Museum to the ancient city of Ildırı, you can easily fill your day to the brim. When you catch the sunset in the Ovacık vineyards, you can't help but think, ‘If only life were always like this.’ Watching the flamingos in the Alaçatı Wetlands is like experiencing a live documentary. Alaçatı's flavours are another delight. You can try lamb tandir at Papazz, meze and chickpea dessert at Fava. Places like Avrasya or Dönerci Ender Usta are ideal for lunch. In the evenings, finding a place to suit your taste is very easy; crowded bars, quiet cafes with music, corners full of conversation... Everyone can find their own rhythm. İncirli Ev Hotel does not offer an ordinary holiday experience. Here, you step into a story; in the memory of Osman Poshor, in the sweetness of the jams prepared by Sabahat Hanım's hands, you find yourself in a small but warm atmosphere. Perhaps the best part is that you get to know yourself a little better here. It's a place where you'll say, ‘I'm so glad I came here’ as you leave.
Ağva Beyaz Ev
In the tranquillity of Ağva, Ağva Beyaz Ev welcomes you on the banks of the Göksu River. The moment you step inside, you realise this is no ordinary hotel. There is warmth in every corner. The cheeses, jams and fresh breads served at the breakfast table are carefully prepared each morning, and you can feel it. The flavours from local producers give you the comfort of feeling like you've left home and arrived at your mother's kitchen. For lunch or dinner, my favourites were the yoghurt-sauced fritters and the prawn casserole. For those who want to go out, Kasapoğlu Steakhouse is packed with live music on Saturday evenings and is a real treat. The Liman Restaurant in the centre never disappoints with its fresh fish. The hotel's river-view rooms, jacuzzi baths, and garden help you forget the stress of the day. Spending a few days here is like escaping the hustle and bustle of city life and rediscovering yourself. When I left, I realised my soul had truly rested, and I set off with a slight smile. The White House is not just a place to stay. Here, you get to know yourself a little better and experience a holiday filled with small details. For those wishing to discover Turkey's small and intimate hotels, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
Mandalya Küçük Otel
In Datça's Kargı Bay, there is a hidden getaway between the sea and nature: Mandalya Small Hotel. This family-run establishment with eight rooms offers a warm atmosphere away from the crowds of large hotels. When you arrive here, you forget the concept of time. Everything is savoured slowly. At Mandalya's à la carte restaurant, there is a feast that extends from the nature of the Aegean to your plate. Fresh herbs gathered from the mountains, crispy seafood, and carefully prepared appetisers come together. A plate of artichokes, a glass of white wine, and a view overlooking Kargı Bay... Your stomach is as happy as your soul. Each room has been designed with separate care. Sitting on the sea-view balconies, watching the rhythm of the sky and the waves, you leave the noise of the city far behind. Here, every detail invites you to slow down a little more, to be alone with yourself a little more. Mandalya Küçük Otel offers more than just accommodation; it offers an experience where you listen to yourself and notice small pleasures. If you want to discover Turkey's small and intimate hotels, this is not a place to pass by without stopping.
Narçiçeği Hotel
In Çıralı, there is a small world hidden under the shade of pomegranate trees: Narçiçeği Hotel. Here, nature is not only awakening, it awakens you too. When you open your eyes early in the morning, you are greeted by birdsong, and the scent of flowers from the garden fills your senses. Your spirit is truly refreshed. The homemade jams made by Sevil Hanım are the stars of the breakfast table. Alongside them comes fresh pomegranate juice squeezed by Ufuk Bey himself. Sometimes you wonder: can life be this simple and this beautiful? The hotel has only six rooms. So there is no crowd or hustle and bustle here. You can reach the sea in ten minutes on foot, but the real beauty is found in the garden, swinging in a hammock or sitting on the veranda. Silence, tranquillity and sincerity all come together. It is the perfect getaway for those who want to escape the crowds, who want to be alone with nature and their own voice on holiday. Their meticulousness regarding cleanliness is immediately apparent. Despite being a small family-run business, Narçiçeği Hotel offers you immense peace of mind. As one of Turkey's smallest boutique hotels, you'll find that heartfelt, intimate holiday experience here.
Olympos Mountain Lodge
In the mountain village of Beycik, at an altitude of 800 metres, there is a place where you can see both the sea and the mountains from the same window: Olympos Mountain Lodge. When you arrive here, the hustle and bustle of the city is left behind, and time slows down. Suddenly, you remember how to breathe, how to feel deep peace. Waking up to the cool mountain air in the morning, letting yourself be warmed by the sun at midday, and warming yourself from the inside out while chatting by the fireplace in the evening... Every moment here is like a little break from the hustle and bustle of life. It's not a hotel, but a place where you tune into the rhythm of nature. There are only eight rooms in total. Made of stone and wood, they are simple but meticulously designed. Each room has its own unique view and a corner on the veranda where you can sit. Some have a fireplace, while others have large windows that let in the silence of the mountains. In the evening, tables are set with the aromas wafting from the kitchen. At their restaurant, called ‘The Rabbit Hole,’ you encounter a different flavour every day. You can find traces of the Aegean, the Taurus Mountains, and the Mediterranean in the dishes made with local ingredients. Olympos Mountain Lodge is a very special place for those who want to get away from the crowds and hear their own voice. It is a small, intimate, breath-taking stop.
Nar Adaevi
Walking through the stone streets of Bozcaada, hearing the bells of the Virgin Mary Church, or even catching a glimpse of the blue sea from a corner makes you feel like you are somewhere else entirely. Tasting wine in this special corner of the Northern Aegean is a distinct pleasure, but what truly makes Nar Adaevi unforgettable is not just the island's history; it is Kemal Bey's friendly demeanour and the care he shows at breakfast. Every morning, pomegranate juice squeezed by his own hands, pomegranate jam that brings the spirit of the island to the plate, cheeses, tomato jam, tables prepared with herbs from the garden... When you leave that table, not only is your stomach full, but your soul is also uplifted. The hotel has only five rooms. The rooms are simple, intimate and have a spirit unique to the island. Sometimes the coolness of the stone walls, sometimes the warmth of the wooden ceilings accompany you. Staying in what was once Despina's room is a story in itself. Island days end with wine at Polente Lighthouse in the evening. The sun sinking into the deep blue sea stays in your mind for a long time. For the sea, the calmest corner is Beylik Cove; it is so quiet that even your phone doesn't get reception, but perhaps that is where you find the most peace. Nar Adaevi is not just a place to stay; it is a small part of a world worth living in, with its respect for history, nature and people. As you leave the island, Kemal Bey's smile and the taste of his breakfast linger in your memory. You already want to make plans for the next grape harvest.
Saklı Konak
This village, Karaburun, is nestled in the heart of a stunning natural panorama, within a beautiful village garden. The manor features a series of authentic corners and rooms. The rooms are village-style, not cookie-cutter. The beds are adorned with lace bedspreads... Our favourite is the Tower Room and the millstone room upstairs, which are as original as can be. They have thick stone walls and pleasant pergolas. In the well-kept garden under the trees, the chairs are wooden and the tablecloths are woven fabric. Saklı Konak, as its name suggests, is truly a ‘hidden’ place. Away from the crowds, peaceful, unhurried... Run by Kerem, this place is actually their old home, and ever since he graduated from university, he has dreamed of running it as a hotel. He has devoted himself entirely to this mansion and finally realised his dream. This is evident in every corner of the hotel; it is not artificial, but authentic and sincere.
