
Places to see in Ankara
When you arrive in Ankara, you should first visit Anıtkabir, where the tomb of our Great Leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is located. In Anıtkabir, you can also visit the tomb of İsmet İnönü, the War of Independence Museum, and the sections displaying Atatürk's personal belongings. You can take a walk along the Lion's Road. Afterward, you can visit the Ankara Castle, known to be the first settlement around which Ankara was founded. You can also visit the buildings of the First and Second Grand National Assemblies.
Ankara has numerous and diverse museums. You can explore the Anatolian Civilizations Museum, Ethnography Museum, Gordion Museum, Atatürk's House, Mehmet Akif Ersoy's House, and the War of Independence and Republic Museums. You can also visit the Roman Baths located in the city center of Ankara. If you wish, you can explore the ancient ruins in the surrounding districts of Ankara. You can visit Yassıhöyük Village, where the remnants of the Phrygian Kingdom's capital, Gordion, are located. Ankara is also home to many caves and thermal springs, which you can visit.
In Ulus, you can see the Augustus Temple. In the Anıtkabir area, you can visit the Beştepe Tumulus. Ankara has numerous mosques, inns, baths, fountains, and churches from past periods, all worth visiting. You can also visit Atatürk Forest Farm, Çubuk Dam Lake, Çankaya Hills, and Altın Park.
