Heritage Homes Atalık Evler – Saburhane House
Saburhane, located in the heart of old Muğla, is a gem of the Muğla district with its distinctive coffeehouses, historic homes, and traditional way of life. Until 1923, Turks and Greeks lived here together; after the population exchange, the departure of the Greek community led to a gradual Turkification of the area. Taverns and wineries in the neighborhood closed, churches were abandoned, and shops once run by Greek merchants began to be operated by the local people.
Saburhane House, built in the 1930s, is an authentic example of civil architecture. After remaining neglected for many years and falling into disrepair, the building underwent a comprehensive restoration between 2015 and 2018. Today, with its four rooms, it offers short-term and seasonal accommodation.
At Heritage Homes Atalık Evler, Saburhane House welcomes you with a unique stay experience that reflects simplicity, tranquility, and the spirit of its surroundings—leaving a lasting impression in your memory.
