Places to eat in Yesilyurt Village
Ayten Ablanın Breakfast & Manti House: In the heart of Yeşilyurt, in touch with nature, a cozy family business awaits you. Aydin Bey and Ayten Hanım, who have been running the tea garden in Yeşilyurt Square for years, welcome you this season in their new location just 100 meters above the village square, with magnificent mountain and sea views. This place is not only a breakfast place, but also a home where homemade flavors and sincere conversations meet. The village breakfast, prepared with natural products in the fresh air of Mount Ida in the mornings, makes a great start to the day. Mrs. Ayten's handmade ravioli and local manlama are just a few of the specialties of this place. You can crown this pleasure with hand-rolled pancakes, homemade meatballs and then Turkish coffee in the sand prepared in the embers. If you wish, you can also taste the healing and fragrant organic herbal teas brewed by Ms. Ayten.
We had a very enjoyable meal at Manici Kasrı with olive oil and jams made from local herbs. Appetizers such as hibiscus and mustard weed and different flavors such as şevket-i bostan and mint jam were truly unforgettable. Another delicious stop was Han. This place is completely family-run, with aunts cooking in the kitchen and their son and grandson serving. We ordered ravioli, the pancakes with herbs were also very good, we had a nice meal in a warm and natural environment.
Manlama, for example, you may not have heard of it before but you should definitely try it. A yogurt and tomato paste sauce is poured on top of the minced meat pita, and the result is a delicious dish. Try it especially at Radika Cafe in Yeşilyurt, they make it very well.
As for dessert, Çetmi dessert is a specialty here. It is made with apples, walnuts and tahini, wrapped like a cigarette roll and served with powdered sugar. Even if you say you don't have a sweet tooth, take a bite and you won't be able to stop. We tried it at Han Cafe and it was quite successful.
The dried jujube is also worth trying while you are here. A crunchy, natural snack with your tea.
If you like fish, I recommend Yengeç Balık Restaurant in Küçükkuyu Harbor. The appetizers are fresh and the seafood is delicious. If you want to enjoy raki and fish while the sun sets, this is the place for you.
If you want something with meat and kebabs, Uysal Pide Kebap is a good option. The lahmacun is thin and crispy and the prices are reasonable. It's on the way, but it has many regulars.
Kakule Cafe is a nice alternative for a coffee break. It's a quiet, calm place with nice conversations and homemade cookies that stole our hearts.
If you're looking for a different dinner experience, stop by Trattoria Leo. This is one of the Italian restaurants in the area and they make really delicious pastas and pizzas. It is a very pleasant address for Mediterranean-inspired plates.
