Naxos Greece Guide
Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades Islands, but perhaps the least showy. And that’s exactly what makes it special. Without being overshadowed by crowds, it embraces you with its natural beauty, charming villages, beaches, and cuisine, all at its own pace. This is the island for those who seek to truly experience a place, not for those rushing through life.
Getting to Naxos
Getting to Naxos isn’t difficult, but it does require a bit of planning. You can take a ferry from Athens, which takes around 3 to 6 hours. Ferries depart almost daily from Piraeus or Rafina ports. If you prefer a faster option, you can also fly from Athens to Naxos in a short domestic flight.
Where to Stay in Naxos
Accommodation options in Naxos are quite diverse. The island's capital, Hora, is perfect for those who enjoy lively nightlife and easy access to transportation. If you prefer a more peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature, consider staying in areas like Plaka, Mikri Vigla, or Apollonas. Staying in a village allows you to experience the local atmosphere more intimately.
