3 Days in Rhodes Island: Places to Visit, Food Stops, and Accommodation Recommendations
If there is a cliché that says “Greek islands are beautiful,” Rhodes is the star of that cliché. A vacation amid every shade of green, the elegance of bougainvilleas, and the sweet smell of the sea in the spring months... The moment I set foot on Rhodes, I said to myself: “Let time slow down these three days, or better yet, let it stand still.” But it passed. Over coffee, in taverns with cries of “Opa!”... My mini guide filled with memories from those three days in Rhodes that will inspire you:
Anthony Queens Bay
Day 1: Journey to the Middle Ages & Longing for the Sea Closing
My first stop: Rhodes Old Town. This historic center, protected by UNESCO, looks like it came straight out of the Game of Thrones set. Walking down Knights Street, you enter a time tunnel among the stone buildings, wooden shutters, and cobblestone pavements.
The Palace of the Grand Master is a must-see. Its exterior is as captivating as its interior. Take a selfie with the stone lion statues on the wall, then grab some olive oil soaps and handmade ceramics from Old Town's small shops.
Late afternoon: I walked towards Elli Beach. It wasn't crowded as the season hadn't fully started yet, and the sea was cool but inviting. Just as I was thinking, “I'll dip my feet in and run away,” I found myself jumping into the water.
Evening: Paneri Taverna to watch the sunset. Famous for its local flavors: calamari, moussaka, and caciki with lots of garlic... With the sound of the bouzouki coming from the next table, I let out a silent “Opa!” but no one heard me. Well, at least you can hear it.
Day 2: Lindos, Love, and Stairs
I set off for Lindos early in the morning. It's about an hour's drive from Rhodes. Walking among Lindos's pure white houses, you constantly feel like you should take a photo in front of each one. I stopped, took a photo, then took another...
Climbing up to the Lindos Acropolis takes a bit of effort, but the view from the top... Oh my god! The Aegean and history in the same frame. I said to myself, “Could there be a more beautiful view than this?” but I didn't know that on day 3, I would have to eat those words...
Lunch: Lindos By Night restaurant. Chicken souvlaki, Greek salad, and an ice-cold Mythos beer. I leaned my head back in the shade and said, “Afternoon naps should be legal in Greece.”
Evening: When I returned to Rhodes, I headed straight to Koukos Taverna. Live music, dancing people, sirtaki… I felt like I was in a scene from Mamma Mia. At one point, I was about to get up on the table, but then I remembered I was Turkish, so I sat back down immediately.
Day 3: Beach, Coffee, Farewell
I greeted the morning at Anthony Quinn Bay. This cove takes its name from the 1960s film “The Guns of Navarone” and is the cove that actor Anthony Quinn was so enchanted by that he wanted to buy it. When I went there, I understood why... This water could be the dictionary definition of turquoise.

Spring Suits Rhodes!
Rhodes is even more beautiful in spring... With its warm but not scorching sun, its uncrowded streets, and its flowers that adorn the entire island like a painting... Throughout my vacation, I often found myself saying, “I'm so glad I came.” On the way back, I could only manage one sentence: “I'll be back in the summer!”
