After 28 years of working as a tour operator, Ghislain pursued her dream to design a venue furnished with the carpets and antiquities she collected from different regions of Turkey, teeming with many types of arts that have sunken into oblivion in Turkey, such as handcrafting, sculpturing and marble-cutting.  Interiors feature furnishings and wooden details made of at least 150-year-old trees. Moreover, the furniture and doors – all hand-carved – showcase the Ottoman opulence.

The 2-person Jacuzzis were relocated in front of the windows under the principle of endless freedom in the hotel, ranked among the 25 best hotels in Turkey in the TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice 2012 list. The guests’ comments are displayed in their own handwriting in the guestbook on the hotel’s website. Dishes presented at Mandarin are prepared with organic products brought from the village, resembling the Turkish tradition of "delicious meals for guests," with the “Taste of Mandarin” as the guests describe it. Some of the favorites are steamed fish, shrimp stew and fish soup.

Whirlpool baths are situated in the rooms with your physical and spiritual health in mind, where you can stare at the green nature. HIP’s TIPs In the middle of lush garden and across the vista of mountains and sea, breakfast and five o’clock tea with home-made pastries, bread and hotel’s special soup, squid farci, smoked fish and wrapped meat and vegetables are admired by the guests. Editor: Ghislain, discovering what guests wanted the most during his days dealing with private tour operator business for 28 years, realized his thought to create a place with antiques and carpets he had been collecting from various regions of Turkey enhanced with the fine details of his sense of service uniting with arts that are on the brink of to be forgotten in Turkey like handicrafts, engraving, marble cutting and others in Mandarin, two years ago. The philosophy to protect old values and showing respect to the handcrafts, recycling come to forward in Mandarin on the full contrary of fast consuming and always searching projects of recent years. The spaciousness and high quality standards stand out in guest rooms. Discarded trees of at least 150 years had been used in indoor furniture and wooden parts.

Furthermore Ottoman style hand engraving art is being exhibited on all furniture and doors. In order to enjoy the fabulous view in its spacious and wide rooms in full, they placed the hot tub for two people in front of the window bearing in mind the unlimited freedom.

The food served in Mandarin, are being prepared with utmost attention in its open kitchen with the organic products bought from the village as a “guest meal” special to Turkish families. A holiday far from the formats is promised to you in this home where all guests’ details are taken into consideration one by one, far from the classical hotel concepts and restrictions.
