Things to do in Thessaloniki

• Once you step foot in Thessaloniki, you can't miss a short walk by the sea. And that walk necessarily leads to the White Tower. This historic tower, the symbol of the city, is a breath of fresh air with its museum inside and the view from the top floor. Especially if you go near sunset, the golden lights blend into the blue of the Aegean. Grab a coffee and sit on a bench. Thessaloniki is already starting to show itself.
• Aristotle Square is the heart of the city. It is a large square, surrounded by cafes. Students, tourists, locals are all together. It might be a great idea to have breakfast here and start the day softly while listening to street musicians. Thessaloniki's unique cozy atmosphere shows its face here for the first time.
• The house where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born can be visited as a museum today. It is very simple, and very impressive. Once inside, you feel like time slows down.
  If you are tired at the end of the day but still have some energy left, head to Ladadika.
• Colorful streets, live music, delicious food smells... Traditional Greek taverns await you here. Olive oil dishes, seafood and homemade wines come to the table. Maybe someone from the next table gets up and starts dancing to bouzouki. Of course you can't resist.
• Mount Olympus, which you can reach only 1 hour from Thessaloniki, is a real treasure for mythology lovers. They say it is the mountain of the gods, even the air is different. The village of Litochoro at the foot of the mountain is a breath of fresh air. Take a small walk, sit in a cafe in the village. It is outside Thessaloniki, but close to its soul.
• If you want to see Greek history in person, not just from books, you should visit the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. There are many pieces from the ancient period, from jewelry to sculptures. The inside is informative and cool and quiet, especially if you want to escape on a hot summer day.
• Agios Dimitrios Church is an impressive Byzantine church dedicated to the patron saint of Thessaloniki. Dim lights, the smell of incense and frescoes that have been standing for centuries.
