Places to See in Thassos

Thassos Island, located in the northern Aegean Sea and just a short ferry ride from mainland Greece, is a destination that’s both easy to reach and a joy to explore. On the western side lies Kazaviti, split into two areas: Megalos (Great) and Mikros (Small) Kazaviti. Kazaviti is also one of the best spots on the island for stargazing away from city lights, the night sky is breathtakingly clear.

Of course, no trip to Thassos is complete without enjoying its beaches. Giola Lagoon, also known as Aphrodite’s Tear, is a unique natural pool carved into the rocks a surreal spot for a swim. Marble Beach, with its white stone shore and turquoise waters, feels straight out of the Caribbean. For families, Golden Beach is a top choice, offering shallow waters, golden sand, and plenty of amenities. Glyfoneri Beach is perfect if you’re looking for peace and shade under the pine trees.
