Places to see in Samsun

When you come to Samsun, you should first visit the Samsun Atatürk Museum. You can see Atatürk's belongings, books and personal documents.
You can visit the Bandırma Steamship that brought Mustafa Kemal to Samsun. The steamship, which is full of historical traces, also has wax figures of Atatürk and his friends.

Samsun has many historical buildings such as mosques, caravanserais, madrasas and baths. You can visit buildings such as the Gökgöl Mosque, Sivrikese Mosque and Göğceli Mosque, as well as the Fazıl Ahmet Paşa Madrasa and the Mater Dolorosa Church.
You can go to see Amisos Hill and its Treasures, located 5 minutes away from the centre of Samsun. You can reach the area by cable car. You can explore the tumuli here. You can visit İkiztepe and Dündartepe Mounds.
You can go to the district of Atakum. You can walk along the seashore and, if it is summer, enjoy the sea and the sun. You can go to Kocadağ, near Atakum. You can take a nature walk in the greenery and meadows. You can go to Derbent Dam Lake. You can see the Amazon statue.
You can visit places of natural beauty such as Ladik Lake, Kızılırmak Bird Sanctuary, Tekkeköy Caves, and Akalan Waterfalls. You can visit Hamamayağı Thermal Baths and find healing.
