Nest Beach Bungalows

Right by the sea, just a few steps from the shore from our bungalow. 🌊

What comes to mind when you first hear “Datça”? For most people, the answer is obvious: almond trees, a sharp sea breeze, and that final point on the map where Turkey stretches into the sea like a slender finger.

But Datça’s story goes much further back. In ancient times, this was Knidos, a port city of the Carian civilization known for its philosophers, astronomers and sculptors. Today, it still sits on the same peninsula, with the Aegean on one side and the Mediterranean on the other, and a breeze in between where the two seas seem to meet, argue and make peace.

The Fisherman of Halicarnassus called these shores part of the “Blue Voyage” — a philosophy of travelling without hurry, spending time with the sea and, ultimately, with yourself. And that is exactly what many people who come to Datça find themselves searching for, perhaps without even realizing it.

We set off with exactly this feeling and, just outside Datça, in a quiet spot away from the crowds, we discovered Nest Beach, thanks to its owner, Süleyman.

Nest Beach wasn’t created with the idea of becoming “a big hotel.” Instead, it was built around the idea of bringing the elegance of nature together with modern comfort under one roof. A limited number of bungalows, right by the sea, creating a private and peaceful space. The architecture focuses on harmony with nature and privacy, with the bungalows spaced far enough apart to give every guest their own quiet corner.

Natural materials, clean lines and a layout that never gets in the way of the view…

We stayed in the Papatya Bungalow — mentioning it here because, apparently, everyone always asks which room we stayed in. 🌼 Waking up to the sound of the sea and being able to reach the shore within just a few steps really is as wonderful as it sounds.

🍳 And then there’s breakfast — one of the details that makes Nest Beach feel truly authentic.

The family behind the property has roots in Hatay, and they have brought that heritage to the table: olives picked from the olive trees in their own garden, traditional Hatay breakfast specialties and fresh seasonal produce…

Finding Hatay’s rich breakfast culture on the same table as a sea view in Datça was, honestly, an unexpected surprise. It felt as though someone was saying, “You’ve come all this way, so why not travel a little further through food?”

🐶 One small but important detail: Nest Beach is pet-friendly, and there is no age restriction for children.

So, why is the location an advantage?

Nest Beach is far enough from the centre to feel peaceful, yet close enough to easily reach everything Datça has to offer. And then there are the surrounding bays: Hayıt Bükü, Palamutbükü and Ovabükü are just a few minutes away, each with its own distinct character.
