How to go to Zakynthos Island
1. By Plane
Direct Flights: There may be limited direct flights from Turkey to Zakynthos, especially during the summer months when some airlines operate direct flights from Istanbul or Izmir to Zakynthos.
Via Athens: You can fly to Athens from major cities in Turkey (Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya) and then take a short domestic flight to Zakynthos. The flight duration from Athens to Zakynthos is approximately 50 minutes.
2. By Ferry
From Bodrum or Marmaris: Ferries operate from southern Turkish coastal towns like Bodrum or Marmaris to various Greek islands. These ferries usually connect through Rhodes or Kos, from where you can reach Zakynthos.
Ferry Schedules: Ferry services are typically more frequent during the summer months, so it's advisable to check schedules in advance according to your travel dates.
3. Combination of Road and Ferry
Overland to Greece: You can first travel by road to Greece (for example, to Thessaloniki or Patras) and then take a ferry to Zakynthos. However, this method can be time-consuming.
Notes
Passport and Visa: As Greece is part of the Schengen Area, Turkish citizens need a valid Schengen visa to enter Greece. Be sure to complete your visa process before your trip.
Reservations: Making reservations for flights and ferries in advance is advisable to secure your spot.
