How to get to Spetses Island
Since there is no airport in Spetses, you need to fly to Athens first. After landing in Athens, you can reach the island by fast ferries departing from Piraeus Port. These ferries depart at certain times every day and reach Spetses by stopping first at Poros and then Hydra during the journey that takes about two hours. Another option is to rent a car from Athens Airport and drive to Porto Heli in the Peloponnese. This journey takes about 2.5-3 hours by road. When you arrive in Porto Heli, you need to leave your car in a safe parking lot because tourist vehicles are not allowed in Spetses. Getting from Porto Heli to Spetses is quite easy. You can reach the island in about 15 minutes thanks to the ferries that run several times a day. If you arrive late, don't worry, you will be in Spetses in just 5 minutes with the sea taxis that serve throughout the night.
