How to get to Laconia
The first and most practical option is to fly via Athens. Flights from Istanbul to Athens take an average of 1 hour and 30 minutes. After landing in Athens, you can rent a car or take a bus to Laconia, especially to Sparta, which is considered the center of the city. The journey takes about 3-4 hours and the average distance is 220 kilometers. During this journey, you can enjoy a pleasant driving experience accompanied by the natural beauties of the Peloponnesian Peninsula. For those looking for an alternative route, it is also possible to go by sea. First, you can take a ferry from Çeşme to Chios Island (Chios) in Greece in about 1 hour. You have two options to get from Chios to Athens: You can either take the ferry, which takes about 8 hours, or you can take a short flight of 45 minutes. After arriving in Athens, you can reach Laconia by car or bus, which takes 3-4 hours by land. Another option is to go completely by road. You can cross overland from Istanbul to Greece and head to Laconia via Kavala, Thessaloniki or Athens. It takes about 10 hours by car from Istanbul to Athens. After Athens, as we mentioned before, it takes 3-4 hours to reach Sparta.
