
How to get to Kala Nera
First of all, it is worth mentioning that Kala Nera Island is an island of Greece. Therefore, direct transportation options from Turkey to Kala Nera Island are limited. However, those who want to go to the island can generally consider the following options:
1. Transportation by plane and ferry
You can fly to Greece from big cities like Izmir or Thessaloniki.
You can arrive in one of the major port cities in Greece (e.g. Volos).
Then, from Volos or another port, you can take a ferry or sea bus to Kala Nera Island. One of the closest ports to Kala Nera is the port of Trikeri.
2. Transportation by Land
From Turkey you can drive your own car or take a bus to major Greek cities such as Thessaloniki, Larisa or Volos.
From there, you can cross to Kala Nera Island by ferry or sea bus.
3. Entry through Turkish-Greek Border Crossings
You can enter Greece through the border crossings between Turkey and Greece (e.g. Ipsala border crossing).
With the transportation options within Greece, you can reach Volos or other major port cities and then you can cross to Kala Nera Island.
