
Places to see in Bodrum
When you come to Bodrum, you should first visit Bodrum Castle. Built on a rocky area between two harbors, the castle dates back to the 15th century. You should definitely see the world's second Underwater Archaeology Museum, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and the Zeki Müren Art Museum inside Bodrum Castle. The museum received a special praise award in the European Museum of the Year Competition in 1995.
You can also visit ancient cities such as Myndos (Gümüşlük), Termena (Akçaalan), Telmisos (Gürece), Kadıyanda (Aşağıgöl) in Bodrum and witness history more closely. You can see the best preserved part of the city wall called Mindos Gate, which has survived to this day. One side of the gate has survived to this day almost preserving its original height.
You can visit the Bodrum Ancient Theater, where many organizations are organized especially in the summer months, and you can even participate in an event if your time allows.
You can see the ruins from the Roman and Byzantine periods, also known as Stratonikeia, located on the Milas - Yatağan road. You can take a walk through the streets of Bodrum and see the famous Bodrum houses more closely, and have a good time in the narrow cobbled streets of Bodrum.
If you want to discover quiet and calm places, we recommend you to visit Mazı and Çökertme bays. If you want to feel the coolness of the forest and enjoy the water flowing by, you can go to Uykuluk Valley, which is 45 minutes away from Bodrum, and cool off under the natural spring water flowing through the mountains.
Another special place we can recommend is the Sinan Bey farm in the village of Bahçeyaka. There are goats, chickens, dogs and cows, you can taste the vegetables and cheeses they grow themselves and most importantly, you can make a reservation in advance with a small group of friends and spend a wonderful evening with Sinan Bey and his wife Sylvie's amazing Pizza and wine made in their own stone oven.
When you go down to Bodrum Marina, you can find all kinds of restaurants and cafes to suit your taste. You can enjoy raki fish accompanied by fresh appetizers at Memedof Fish Shop opposite the Marina. You should definitely taste the carefully prepared menu of Haluka Bodrum, located in front of the Myndos Fountain Gate, where they bring together old flavors.
