Summer, that beautiful season that touches all my senses, is already here. We miss those days when we planned to get lost in the deep blue waters, chase history, relax and have fun at the same time. If you are looking for a small, quaint, compact but charming vacation spot close to Istanbul, Cunda is definitely one of the holiday destinations I would recommend.
In Cunda, which is now dominated by the Turkish population, I think plans should be made one by one while having a foamy coffee against
the sea at Taş Kahve. This is a town where you will "slow down", where you will think of nothing but planning the moment, where you will stroll in the deep blue waters, where you will greet the shopkeepers, where you will admire its history and past, where you will dream about the houses with bay windows, where you will not get bored if you walk its streets over and over again.
You should go here to taste a variety of fish, fresh squid or octopus, delicious Aegean appetizers, the most authentic olive oil and most importantly, to enjoy everything. Oh, and to cool off in Cunda's famous wind in the sweltering summer days ❤️ me.
While in Cunda, you can stop by Çeşni Cafe, taste the delicious pizzas of Uno Pizza, indulge in the flavors of Ayna Restaurant, and make a reservation at Cundeli, Cilveli or Moshos Taverna for fun nights.
The places you should visit in Cunda are;
Rahmi M. Koç Museum, Taksiyarhis Church, Historical Windmills and Lovers Hill. You should also get lost in the streets of Cunda, swim in Ortunç Bay and visit Ayvalık.
Let's come to the question of where to stay. In a 180-year-old historical building, some rooms of which were once operated as the bakery of the neighborhood, @siyahlalecunda is my recommendation in Cunda with a very sweet transformation story that you will love every corner where memories shed light.
Siyah Lale opened its doors after being restored this year. The concept was given a modern touch without disturbing the historical texture of the hotel.
In the early 1940s, when poverty was rampant and everything was rationed. Imagine if the room you stayed in today was used as a bakery! The building, which was the home of a family with 10 children, where people brought bread to their tables, is now restored and dreams of the stories it will tell and pass on to its new guests in the heart of Cunda. If I add the information that this crowded family rented out the rooms for subsistence purposes, it is technically the first pension of Cunda @siyahlalecunda
With 10 rooms, my favorite room in this quaint historical building was Room 110. It definitely got full points from me with its large ceiling height, luxurious bathtub that will pamper you and add pleasure to your pleasure, the feeling that you will touch the sea if you extend your hand from the balcony of the room and the view of Taksiyarhis Church. The rooms vary in size between 12-30 m2. If you want to cool off in Cunda, the distance to the sea is only 300 meters.
The bed and breakfast serves a mixed breakfast. Homemade Aegean jams, herb pastries, handmade cakes, a rich and extensive breakfast menu will accompany you every morning.
The ground floor is suitable for disabled people.
Before I forget; Child policy +12 years old.
Balıkesir Koca Seyit Airport is 45 km away.
Siyah Lale is a really special address on Cunda Island, suitable for everyone who wants to get lost in the historical integrity of Cunda, who wants to spend a peaceful and pleasant holiday in this building built in 1841 and who prefers to rest his soul.
Maybe this summer is the summer to discover Cunda, where the streets open to the sea, the doors wink to the gardens, and the flowers float to the sky, what do you think?
