Places to Eat in Rhodes
Rhodes is an island full not only of history, but also of flavors and nightlife. Whether among the old city walls, in the narrow streets of the coastal towns or in a village square, a different flavor and a different mood await you around every corner.
The Cellar of Knights: A wine cellar hidden under stone stairs in the shadow of the Middle Ages. Time slows down between the dim light, thick stone walls and local wines lining the shelves. Although you often come across it on Instagram, when you enter there, you forget about the screen and just start living in the moment.
Auvergne Cafe: Set in the courtyard of an old inn, this cafe-restaurant offers a different flavor at every hour of the day among the stone columns. Quiet in the morning, lively in the evening with live music. The service can be a bit slow, but the ambiance is so charming that even the wait is enjoyable.
Ono by Marouli: Whether you eat vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free, there's something for every meal here. Colorful plates, clean ingredients and a refreshing atmosphere. The breakfast bowls are especially popular. It's only closed on Sundays, so make a note when planning.
Marco Polo Restaurant: If you're planning an elegant dinner in Rhodes, Marco Polo is definitely your choice. It offers a “fine dining” experience with its ambiance and presentation. While dining by candlelight in a quiet garden, you feel like you are in the middle of history.
Il Borgo: The place that will come to your rescue when you miss Italian cuisine. Pizza, pasta, lasagna, you name it. The flavors are classic but the atmosphere is very warm and friendly. Especially ideal for families with children.
Romios Restaurant: You can find the most well-known flavors of Greek cuisine here: Moussaka, souvlaki, octopus, appetizers. With its garden surrounded by stone walls and tables under the shade of vines, it is a warm and homey place. Not to mention the friendly service.
Breakfast Rhodes Old Town by Decan: A modern yet cozy place where you can find everything you need for breakfast. From chia seed bowls to eggs on toast, the menu is extensive. Great for recharging your batteries, especially before long walks.
Ta Kardasia: A traditional Greek restaurant. The menu is simple but concise: souvlaki, moussaka, house wines. There's also a terrace, so dining overlooking the streets of the Old Town is a real treat.
Amam Restaurant: Located in the historic center, this restaurant is like a romantic getaway in terms of both ambiance and food. The seafood is very fresh, especially the grilled calamari.
To Marouli (Lindos): Hidden in the labyrinthine streets of Lindos, this small restaurant wins hearts with its appetizers and main courses. The view of the Acropolis of Lindos from the terrace is an experience in itself.
Kerasma (Ialysos): A balanced combination of modern and traditional. Classic Greek recipes come with different interpretations. The interior is elegant and the service is professional. It can also be preferred as a cafe during the day.
Mimakos (Afandou): Village atmosphere, local ingredients and family-run warmth. Everything you eat at Mimakos is simple but real. Sitting in the garden and having a long dinner can be one of the most peaceful moments of your vacation.
Ta Kioupia (Rhodes Town): If you want a true taverna experience, this is the place to be. Classic appetizers, local wines, sometimes live music... You find the spirit of Rhodes on the plate and in the glass.
