Places to Eat in Hydra

Xeri Elia Douskos Taverna: A little away from the crowds of Hydra, in the shade of hyacinths in the back streets, this cozy taverna is a temple of flavor. Shabby but with a lot of character. You can go to the kitchen and choose the daily dishes yourself, which is another pleasure. The shaded area at noon is ideal for a cool and peaceful meal. If you're looking for an intimate experience away from the tourist trap, be sure to stop by.

Sunset Restaurant: Just like its name: watching the sunset here is a different experience! The pleasure of having an elegant dinner on the terrace overlooking the sea as the golden sun descends towards the horizon is indescribable. But beware, advance reservations are essential to get a good table! The menu modernizes the classic Greek cuisine a bit, but it's more for the ambiance. Still, it's a perfect choice for a romantic evening.

Omilos Restaurant: Just to your right on your way to Sunset, Omilos also stands out with its view and ambiance. It is really enjoyable to eat while hearing the sound of the waves in the background. We couldn't find the opportunity to sit down, but we say enjoy your meal! It is especially noteworthy with its wine menu.

Techne Restaurant: Looking for something a little more innovative? Then Techne is the place for you. It offers a more modern take on Greek cuisine, with unusual but delicious options like moussaka with octopus. The sunset view is also great here; a dinner on the terrace is definitely unforgettable.

Italian Breezes: Il Casta & Veranda: For those looking for a break from seafood, Hydra also has a few successful Italian restaurants.

Il Casta, is one of the best Italian restaurants on the island. Handmade pastas, ravioli, bruschetta with fresh tomatoes and a delicious tiramisu at the end is like a short trip to Italy. The place is run by an Italian father and his sons, a family business.

Veranda Restaurant, gives you the feeling of dining in the garden of your home. The menu is a mix of Greek-Italian; it will be one of your favorite places with its homemade food, warm atmosphere and beautiful view.
