Places to eat in
If you ask where and what to eat in Dalyan, there are many places that will be remembered for their view, flavor and atmosphere. Alegria Brasserie, for example, will satisfy both your soul and your stomach with its location on the banks of the Dalyan River, overlooking the rock tombs. The owner Burcu Hanım is also the chef of the restaurant and has skillfully brought the flavors from the world cuisine she learned during her travels to the menu. Especially the homemade pastas and desserts are completely made by her. We started with a spoon salad and crispy chicken starter, and we knew we were in the right place at the first bite. The Çökertme kebab and beef slices with Thai sauce were very ambitious in terms of taste and portion. After dinner, if you want a little more calmness, a little more nature, do not return without stopping by Yalıçapkını Restaurant, which is like a hidden oasis not far from the center of Dalyan. This peaceful place, which you reach through the pomegranate groves, is located by the river; water turtles swimming on your right and fragrant pomegranate trees on your left. The place is family-run and Ms. Gizem takes care of the guests one-on-one. For now, it is a place mostly known by foreigners, but after this article, it may be talked about a lot. We had both breakfast and dinner here. If you want to start the day well, this is definitely the right address. For dinner, fish and appetizers were the star of the show. The sea beans and shakshuka were very good, but the hot hummus with bacon took us to a whole new level. Even Üstün, who is normally distant from hummus, couldn't look up from his plate. We crowned the night with sea bream and sea bass for the main course. If blue crab, the symbol of Dalyan, is on the menu, be sure to try it, but in recent years it has become difficult to find it everywhere due to illegal fishing, so if you come across it, make sure it is fresh. If seafood is not your thing, no problem, because there are many places in Dalyan that serve international cuisine. You can set up a table with appetizers by the lake, or try creative dishes from Italian, Mexican or modern Mediterranean cuisine in the chic cafes on the stone streets. The Caretta Restaurant in the center of the square is a good example of this diversity, with an extensive menu of Turkish cuisine, from fresh seafood to fine meats, there is something for everyone.
