Ayasaranda is one of Çeşme’s oldest settlements. It takes its name from a former Greek Orthodox church that once stood here; the name is said to mean “Forty Saints,” and locals believed it brought peace and protection to the area. Right in the heart of town yet removed from its noise, this hillside overlooking Chios Island offers sunsets that feel truly unforgettable.

I’m staying at Hotel Jirasol. Overlooking Çeşme Marina and Chios Island, the hotel opened its doors in July 2026 and is now welcoming guests for its very first season. The name means “facing the sun,” and it lives up to it—every evening here feels like an embrace of the sunset.

At the heart of the property stand decades-old olive trees, with the entire architecture thoughtfully designed around them. Earthy tones, natural stone, and warm wood create a space that speaks the quiet language of the Aegean. With only 30 rooms, it genuinely feels intimate rather than crowded.

I’m staying in the highest duplex suite with its own private pool. Mornings begin beneath the shade of olive trees, afternoons are spent by the infinity pool overlooking Chios Island, and evenings end at Jira Restaurant (@jirarestaurant), where the sunset becomes part of the dining experience.

Chef Ersin Aykan’s menu stays true to Aegean cuisine. The baked octopus and Cretan quiche are among the highlights, while breakfast is served as a generous traditional Turkish spread. Even in its first season, the restaurant has the potential to become one of Çeşme’s notable dining destinations.

As Zorba once said, sometimes all we need is the sea, the sun, and a glass of wine—nothing more. That simple philosophy is exactly what you find here.

The hotel is not directly on the beachfront, which is actually one of its strengths. It offers a peaceful atmosphere away from the crowds, while Ayayorgi Bay is only a five-minute drive away. With its crystal-clear water, sheltered setting, and lively beach clubs, Ayayorgi has its own vibrant energy. Stay by the hotel’s pool if you’re looking for tranquility, or head down to the bay when you’re in the mood for a livelier scene.

The location is what truly sets it apart. It’s just minutes from Çeşme town centre and only a 10-minute drive from Alaçatı, yet it feels completely removed from the bustle. You can easily enjoy beach clubs, the historic old town, and peaceful evenings—all within easy reach.

The hotel is not pet-friendly.

As one of this season’s newest openings, Hotel Jirasol is definitely worth keeping on your radar. My first impression was a very positive one.
