How to get to Erzurum

It is possible to reach the city by air, road and rail. The Eastern Express, which has become famous in recent years, offers a pleasant train journey from Ankara to Erzurum. The opposite direction is also possible. However, you may find it difficult to find a seat as there is a great interest in the tickets. If you prefer land transportation, Istanbul-Erzurum takes 13-14 hours by private car and about 18 hours by bus. You can also reach Erzurum, where there are bus services every day and every hour, by air if you wish, there is an airport in the city. We recommend that you pay special attention to transportation especially during the winter months because due to the climate, the roads around Erzurum and in the city can sometimes be icy.
