Bodrum, one of the first places that comes to mind when we think of vacation in Turkey, is one of the central districts of Muğla. It is located in the western part of the city. All of Bodrum remains within the peninsula from which it takes its name. It shows the climate characteristics of both the Mediterranean and the Aegean Region. Due to the long summer season, the tourism season is also quite long in Bodrum. Bodrum, formerly known as Halicarnassos, is still called Halicarnassus today. After the castle built in the name of St. Peter, the name of the city, which was once called Petrium, became Petrum and Bodrum. The Mausoleum of Mavsolos, one of the seven wonders of the world, was built in Bodrum. The stones of the mausoleum, which collapsed over time, were used in the construction of Bodrum Castle. Today Bodrum Castle is open to visitors as the second largest Underwater Archaeology Museum in the world.   Bodrum is a town of legendary beauty that is mentioned in many historical and literary sources. Homer referred to Bodrum as “the land of eternal blues”, while Cevat Şakir, known as the Fisherman of Halicarnassus, said of Bodrum, “One lives in light here rather than in light elsewhere”. Bodrum is indeed such a beautiful holiday destination.Bodrum Castle, which is between the two harbors and has managed to stand for years and brings the traces of history to the present day, and the streets lined with the famous Bodrum houses with whitewashed and blue shutters, where the scents of tangerine and lemon trees surround the streets, Bodrum is among the places that must be seen before you die.Bodrum is a paradise for holidaymakers with its lush green nature and clear blue sea and bays as clear as an aquarium.
