Saklikent

On the way back to Fethiye, you should definitely stop to taste the homemade pancakes and homemade ice-cold ayran made by the villagers who will make you experience Turkish village life and hospitality.Saklikent, which is reached by going to Tlos 13 km after the Kemer turnoff from the Fethiye-Antalya highway and then 21 km after the Kemer turnoff, is a huge valley and canyon that goes 14 kilometers inland, so deep and high that the sun's rays cannot enter, after passing the Kayadibi village. Saklikent was found 15 years ago by a shepherd and leased from the government for 49 years. Now this shepherd runs the cafe-restaurant in Saklikent. There is a fee at the entrance of the canyon and you leave your car and start walking. You have to walk through ice-cold natural spring water that you can drink and cross to the other side of the Eşen stream. The water is so cold that putting your foot in the water requires a decision process. Since it is not easy to walk against the current, wooden piers made of wood are built on the canyon walls above the stream. You can walk single file on these scaffolds and come to the point where the stream bursts. You will see many countryside casinos on the way to Saklikent. You can sit in the cafe-restaurant at this point and watch the waters pouring with a terrific cascade accompanied by pancake-ayran or trout. If you wish, you can cross to the opposite shore and go deeper into the canyon.
