Gourmet and Gastronomy Hotels

Turkey is undoubtedly one of the first countries that come to mind when it comes to gastronomy tourism. The fact that we have incredibly rich regions in terms of culinary culture brings countless gourmet hotels. You are more likely to come across gourmet hotels especially in cities such as Hatay, Antakya, Adana, Gaziantep, which are rich in gastronomy. In these cities, where gastronomy festivals take place from time to time, it is possible to stay at more affordable prices by taking advantage of early booking opportunities.

There are gourmet hotels not only for local cuisines but also for vacationers who are interested in world cuisines. If you are traveling for business in one of the metropolitan cities such as Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara or Antalya, you can search for hotels in the category of hotels that stand out with their cuisine. Here are the gourmet hotels we have carefully selected from all over Turkey:

1- Casa Lavanda Hotel - Şile İstanbul

Their menus change in winter and summer seasons with the produce from their gardens, which they cultivate according to the rhythm of nature. The pastas are made daily at home, the plates are decorated with porcini and truffle mushrooms and the sourdough breads are wonderful; they melt in your mouth! The wine cellars are also ideal. The secret signature in the flavor and presentation of each dish belongs to our host chef Emre Şen! Of course, it is also very enjoyable to eat outdoors overlooking the lush green valley. A vase on each table, a flower in it. We are in a peaceful atmosphere, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

2- Barbaros Bağ Evi – Tekirdağ

A magnificent view and atmosphere. It is a quiet, calm place where you can see a different view in every corner of the vineyard and feel peaceful with its huge garden. A nice escape from Kadıköy, Istanbul, which can be reached in 2 and a half hours (with traffic).
Good points; signature dishes at dinner, unlimited wine selection - including mid and top segment wines, appetizer cheese plates, very comfortable bed, spacious rooms. What could be improved: the rooms need some work.

3- Argos in Cappadocia, Uchisar

At argos in Cappadocia, where many of the rooms, all different from each other, have their own terraces, gardens and courtyards, you can relax in the in-room private pools of the Splendid Suites, enjoy the wines produced by the hotel's own vineyards, which are among the best wine hotels in the world, enjoy the thousands of years old underground cellar, and enjoy flavors such as tenderloin rested with fenugreek, Pumpkin Dessert (with Walnut and Molasses Tahini Mousse), tahini and cherry sorbet at Seki Restaurant, one of the best restaurants in the region…

4- Museum Hotel, Uchisar

Breakfast... You have seen our stories, wherever you turn your head there is a different kind of flavor. The pancakes, breads, jams and jams that are freshly made in a wood-fired oven and served warm, are simply indescribable. The hotel already has a 500-acre ecological garden with good agriculture, so we can say natural flavor for almost every taste...
🍽 The gourmet flavors and presentations of the hotel's Lil'a Restaurant are legendary, traditional Anatolian cuisine is wonderfully interpreted here (the view is as ambitious as the flavors.) Chef Saygın Sesli prepares them all with care, and if you wish, you can take an extra 1.5-hour cooking lesson from Saygın Chef.

5- Urla Bağ Evi - Urla İzmir

All the ingredients they use in their kitchen come from their own villages and fields. Because the way to good food is through natural products. Goat cheese wrapped in kadayfa, seafood bohça pastry, tenderloin with roquefort sauce, octopus in wine sauce are among the most delicious examples of the menu for us.

6- Ottoman Hotel Imperial - Sultanahmet

On the recommendation of our friends, we met Matbah on a short and spontaneous trip to Istanbul. And we are glad we didn't try this beautiful place, recommended by the Michelin 2023 guide. From the moment you step inside, you feel special with the friendly, polite and attentive staff, the indoor atmosphere, the music and the presentations. It lives up to the promise of "feel like a sultan" in the entrance of the restaurant. The lamb neck with plum and mahmudiye served with saffron rice was a feast with its aroma on our palate. The flavors of almond, cinnamon, plum and molasses were in perfect harmony with the meat. After the main course: the whiskey bread dessert with clotted cream was a must try. The flavor of the buffalo cream definitely took this dessert to another level. At the end of the meal, it was also very nice to be greeted with an old Ottoman table tradition of dis kirasi (out rent), pendants in tiny pouches as a remembrance of Istanbul and the Matbah. +90 212 513 61 50 / 51

7- Bakucha Vineyard Hotel – Lüleburgaz

If you need inspiring motivation, you can leave and come right away. (There are also meeting rooms if you are crowded.) If you want to relax, if you need a massage, you can come right away. If you say "I want it all, but I want some gourmet cuisine", sorry, Lüleburgaz does not have an airport, you can use the highway. (Be careful!
Most of the vegetables they use in the Chef's Table restaurant are grown on their own land. They buy meat from Hamitabat Village Cooperative. They get their small cattle, poultry and dairy products from the surrounding villages. All of these meats and eggs come from free-range animals. In the meantime, be sure to visit the Tower Bar and watch the sunset. Even if you are not going to stay here, make a plan not to miss the sunset and stop by this hotel. The snacks at this bar are also quite delicious.  In short, this is a gastronomic center in nature.

8- Od Urla - İzmir

This is an old Greek house. It has 6 rooms in total. The rooms are not very spacious but simple + elegant.
The food is from Od Urla, one of the most exclusive restaurants in Turkey... (The restaurant is right next to the hotel) They have hosted many famous local and foreign guests. Their food is legendary.
The best fruits and vegetables that the Aegean heals from the soil with slow agriculture are served to your table through an illusion.
If you come in summer, you can cool off in the pools in the garden, shaded by lush green trees.  For dinner, there is a large dining table on the terraces, just right for a friendly gathering.
If you come in winter, a fireplace awaits you. You can sip your coffee here after dinner.

9- Teruar Urla – İzmir

Teruar means "The environmental factors that comprise a crop's distinctive growth environment." Collectively, these characteristics are said to reflect a character; Teruar expresses that character.
The concept of the hotel is bed and breakfast. The rooms have a minimal, simple, modern and unique decoration like the rest of the hotel.
In the kitchen is the hotel's Founding Chef Osman Serdaroğlu. The chef's story started at #MSA in #Turkey, then he continued his career in #Italy with his passion for #gastronomy and after a 5-year adventure in Italy, he came back to #Izmir where he was born and raised.
There is a vegetable and fruit garden and aromatic gardens inside the hotel. The flavors in the kitchen are prepared with local products collected in season. They have fragrant homemade bread for breakfast every morning.
Osman Chef personally oversees the shopping. The soil is fertile, the recipes are ambitious, you can imagine the plates. The food is incredibly delicious, even if you are not staying here, you should definitely come to experience the Chef's flavors.
And the final...

11- Hotel Caeli, Eceabat

Hotel Caeli is a vineyard and wine hotel in Eceabat. It is built among 170 thousand acres of vineyards. You can join vintage tours here. We joined the tour, it was very informative and enjoyable. Then we joined the wine production tour, you can see the whole production process. The hotel's restaurant is a gourmet restaurant and very successful. The wines are produced from the vineyards you are in and delivered to your table. All the vegetables and fruits in the restaurant are brought to the table from the fields you are in. The hotel also has the works of good artists, so when you visit the hotel, it is like visiting an art gallery. The rooms are very, very large and spacious, all with balconies and views. 12- Mardius Tarihi Konak, Mardin

Thanks to their award-winning chefs, the restaurant sections are like a Gastrological Festival. They really interpreted the Mardin region very successfully. Especially you should try the registered Peyran Soup (Yes, yes, Peyran, not Beyran). The hotel works as bed and breakfast. However, we can say that their breakfast is literally "Mardin local gourmet breakfast". Breakfast is prepared exclusively for hotel guests. All hot and non-alcoholic cold drinks are free of charge during your stay. Transfer services from the airport are also available.

13- OMM INN, Eskişehir

Breakfast, which is included with your stay, is served at OMM Cafe, which you will definitely want to experience even if you are not staying at OMM INN. With both indoor and outdoor areas, it serves a menu with a wide range of Mediterranean flavors during the day and Turkish cuisine in the evening. Both the café and restaurant sections are spacious and interesting with their ambiance, which makes you want to explore and rummage around like a little child. Especially the library in the café section and the seating area with an asymmetrical sofa are very interesting. The circular swing in the open area of the restaurant and café and the ergonomic armchair, which can be seen from meters away, seem to create sweet spots for those who like to take photos.

14- HSVHN Hotel, Gaziantep

Also known as Lala Mustafa Pasha Han, it is a magnificent Ottoman work that won an award for Gaziantep with its magnificent restoration. A place that must be visited. A coffee in the courtyard. A nice dinner in the modern restaurant and a stay in one of the very, very special rooms. To live hundreds of years ago for a moment. To feel today and yesterday together. That sums up Hishvahan in a nutshell.
Between 1563 and 1577, Lala Mustafa Pasha built this place.
The atmosphere enchants you even as you enter.
When we were in Gaziantep, we visited everywhere, from the rooms to the courtyard to the restaurant.
Do you know the Hamam Museum, the Hamam Museum is actually a part of this place. Do not return without seeing it!
It is worth getting up and coming to Gaziantep just to experience this place.
Suitable for families with children, pets are not allowed, there is a disabled room.

15- Tasigo Hotel, Eskişehir

Inside the hotel, there is a restaurant with an uninterrupted panoramic view of Eskişehir, a bright and spacious restaurant with a large glass facade and most importantly, a very successful menu: People Restaurant. You should experience this section for a la carte flavors. The paddy kebab was delicious...
Turquoise Restaurant is another restaurant where breakfast is also served, which can be served as an open buffet for group dinners... Breakfast is boooool varied... We didn't know what to put on our plates.
(they also have a large terrace here, so you can enjoy your breakfast outdoors in summer)

16- Beta Home Göl Evi, Sapanca

It's 'Hurry Slowly' time! We are setting sail on this fun adventure. The Slow Food movement, which aims to spread the culture of eating well, is a natural expression of this philosophy. Inspired by the taste of the table, the quality of the food and the diversity of the food culture, slow cooks in this synergy display synchronized kitchens connected to nature. Beta Home in Sapanca, which offers this kind of cuisine, is a special hotel that has proven that cuisine can reach the heights by staying connected to nature and creating an intimate restaurant environment. We sit at their conversation-filled tables with love and clink our glasses together. The sweet-sour beetroot/Girrit paste marinated with coriander, whiskey-orange celery cream, potato terrine served with sooty meat, liver pate with brandy, ravioli stuffed with veal tail, Sapanca apple molasses and caramelized Sapanca walnuts are very famous. This is a very nice menu that Doğan Chef, the host, has created based on the idea of not wasting anything. And the yogurt sorbet made with milk is delicious. By the way; reservation is a must. Beta Home, a place all by itself in the natural environment of Sapanca Lake, still preserves for us the feeling of being both out of time and in all times.

18- Olympos Mountain Lodge - Beycik Kemer Antalya

All the work in OML's gardens, kitchens and rooms is a reflection of the labor of the owners Su and Mehmet Ali. They say that it is necessary to understand the language of nature, not only to understand but also to love it. Each of their rooms has a different story. Each one is unique in its own way. The chalets with fireplaces are kept annually by special fans. Our favorite is the suite: a room with a garden and the scent of sun and wildflowers! Now we come to the delicious afternoons when our taste buds get a taste of imagination: the kitchen is open. It is a pleasure to watch the chefs and their copper pans while we eat. In the gastronomic tasting menus, the balance of flavors, unique to each dish, allows us to eat slowly and talk for a long time in their gentle atmosphere that laughs at time. It's worth mentioning that their music range extends from jazz and classical music played on vinyl records to soft rock. After dinner, we enjoy a glass of wine and watch the shooting stars on the terrace. Hâşim's lines immediately come to mind in this atmosphere: "Evening, evening, evening again / If I were a reed in the lakes!

19- Gülevi Safranbolu, Karabük

At a certain time of the evening, when the day has just set and the moon is just rising on the opposite hills, it is impossible not to make a selection from the Paphlagonian menus carefully created and prepared by the host Mr. Ibrahim, which are as high quality as the decor, music and service of the mansion. I open the meal with the legendary barley soup, followed by a special selection of wines from the wine cellars; I end the dinner with çullu pastry, sour rice, whole meat on a bed of roasted herbs with walnuts and saffron diamondiye for dessert. For me, this is a table that leaves pleasant memories for a long time... I recommend it "wholeheartedly" to curious palates like mine...

20- Güllü Konakları, Şirince

As I climb the streets after breakfast, the Church of St. Dimitrios, which I come across while climbing up the streets, reminds me of the style of this village, Şirince, with different accents. Then I make my way to the Mathematics Village, a place like poetry... And of course I don't neglect to visit the ruins of the ancient city of Ephessos, Magnesia and the House of the Virgin Mary...
Güllü Konakları lives the elegance of the village with its rooms restored with the sweat of their brow, becoming more beautiful as the years go by, and customizing moments of absolute tranquility in Şirince. In my room with a view of the valley, a balcony and a fireplace, they have officially established the geometry of silence... We should not forget the flavor of the breakfasts and meals from their kitchen. The table is prepared with natural products from the earth, they try to make the best of the flavors with their philosophy. Purslane salad with peach, beetroot with cherry and beef ribs are among the dishes that make you feel this flavor.
