Hotel Des Etrangers (Hotel of Foreigners) is a hotel with a special certificate, built in the 14th century and later restored, which has also hosted Heinrich Schlieman, Explorer of Troy, in the 19th century. The rooms with balconies to a view of the Dardanelles have an atmosphere reminiscent of Italian country style, with modern decorations carrying traces of Anatolian, Ottoman and Greek architecture. Some have impressive decorations with patterns common to Seldjuk architecture on their ceilings.
It is in a central location, and only 25 km if one wishes to follow the historical texture on the streets to the ancient city of Troy. At Hotel Des Etrangers, which is easy to reach due to its proximity to Eceabat and Kilitbahir ferry lines, one can experience the history of Çanakkale with today’s sensibilities, enjoy oneself with loved ones, or taste exquisite natural homemade delicacies unique to Çanakkale from local kitchens.
