Karabük is a city in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. It is located in the western part of the country, and is the capital of Karabük Province. The city is known for its steel industry and its proximity to the Black Sea coast. The population of Karabük is around 120,000 people. It is also a district of the province, which has an area of 1,834 km2 (708 sq mi) and a population of around 340,000 in total. The city was established in the early 20th century to house workers from the newly built iron and steel factory.
